    Graduate Embedded Software Engineer – C/C++

    Overview

    We are now seeking a bright and devoted software engineer to join the expanding software team. The role will be involved in the development of premium quality chemical processing equipment marketed within the Syrris (www.syrris.com) and AGI (www.agi-glassplant.com) brands.

    The role will report to the Software Engineering Manager of AGI UK and work within a multi-disciplinary R&D department consisting of electro-mechanical, software and test engineers. The ideal candidate will be collaborative, willing to learn and keen to make a positive impact.

    Job brief

    The Graduate Embedded Software Engineer will be involved in the implementation and delivery of a wide range of high-quality software solutions for laboratory-scale to pilot-plant scale automation products used in the synthesis of chemicals.

    The Graduate Embedded Software Engineer will be expected to produce and maintain good quality software while working within a small Agile team.

    Responsibilities

    Duties will include but are not limited to:

    • Participating in all stages of the software development process for new product development.
    • Supporting continuous product improvement activities for existing products.
    • Adopting engineering best practices such as TDD, CI/CD, code reviews and clean code.
    • Collaborating with the product owner in discovering product requirements.

    Requirements

      • Bachelor’s degree 2.1 and above in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or Physics.
      • Programming experience in C and C++ programming languages.
      • Clear verbal and written communication skills.
      • Self-motivated team player with ability to work autonomously.

     

    Some non-essential but desirable experiences include:

    • Familiarity with Git or similar version control systems.
    • Knowledge in common hardware interfaces, i.e. RS232, USB, Ethernet etc.
    • Experience with development of desktop and embedded applications.
    • Familiarity with Linux systems, embedded OS and microcontrollers.
    • Experience in Python development.

    Head of Finance

    The Head of Finance is the most senior finance role withing AGI UK, consequently comes with significant responsibility to guide and advise the board and other senior managers in respect of financial matters. This includes the responsibility to identify where we do not have the knowledge/experience in house and therefore seek external advice or clarification. He/She, should be a proactive thinker, trying to predict problems and proposing solutions on how to avoid such pitfalls.

    The Head of Finance will have direct line management responsibility for the finance team, allocating work, supervising day-to-day activities, coaching and training staff where needed. The Head of Finance will set the expectations, standards of performance and accuracy that are required from the finance team and ensure these are routinely maintained.

    Finance is a centralised function serving all parts of the company at all levels, therefore, strong communication skills are an essential attribute to be successful in this role.

    Responsibilities

    • Member of SMT contributing to regular SMT meetings
    • Management of finance team and its functions
    • Definition and implementation of finance processes
    • Generation of financial reports, data and KPIs
    • Operate payroll and benefits
    • Manage cash and credit control
    • Administration of finance related HR function
    • Creation of annual budget and forecast models
    • Interaction and negotiations with finance team in Japan

    Requirements

    • Proven experience in senior finance role, including management of staff
    • In depth knowledge of operating and configuring accounting and ERP software systems
    • Strong understanding of international trade rules and normal procedures
    • Ability to innovate, define and implement finance strategy for the business
    • Confident and adept at mining and manipulating data and presenting financial reports
    • Excellent communication skills

    • Problem-solving aptitude
    • CIMA qualified or ACCA with significant management accounting experience
    • Experience using NetSuite would be advantageous (currently using Sage)
    • SQL / Microsoft query reporting skills

    CRM and Marketing Automation Specialist

    Royston, UK

    Overview

    We are looking for a dynamic, enthusiastic CRM and Marketing Automation Specialist to support the marketing team with the management and maintenance of our CRM, Salesforce, and Marketing Automation platform, Pardot. The CRM Digital Marketer will support the marketing team with the operational implementation of campaign activity, ensuring a seamless alignment of activities between Salesforce and Pardot for performance tracking and reporting.

    The role will support the marketing team with activities across AGI Group global brands: AGI Glassplant (www.agi-glassplant.com) and Syrris (www.syrris.com), in addition to local glassware brands, Glass Solutions, Cambridge Glassblowing and Glaskeller.     The role reports to the Marketing Manager and will involve working collaboratively across the commercial team to ensure workflows are optimized to meet team objectives and deliverables. The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to train staff and have empathy for those who may not understand complex information and the language of Salesforce and Pardot.

    The role CRM and Marketing Automation Specialist will focus on the implementation of marketing campaign activities in Pardot to drive lead generation, boost brand awareness and support sales initiatives.

    The CRM and Marketing Automation Specialist will help with operational activities relating to day-to-day management of Pardot and Salesforce including: campaign setup, tracking and reporting across Pardot and Salesforce; supporting the MQL and SQL process; data quality management; monthly reporting on activities; managing and maintaining Salesforce dashboards and reports.

    The ideal candidate will have proficient experience in managing CRM and Marketing Automation, ensuring best practice is being followed across marketing and sales activities and aligning with MQL and SQL activities. Digital marketing experience in ad platforms, SEO and across social would be an advantage.

    Be the expert user on CRM (Salesforce) and Marketing Automation (Pardot) platforms

    • Working with the Marketing Manager to define a CRM strategy that will drive retention rates and the lifetime value of our consumers across our portfolio of brands
    • Support marketing team in developing target audiences and campaigns for various communications and promotional efforts.
    • Provide recommendations on how to leverage CRM to execute on strategic vision, including lead scoring, prospecting, and retention strategies.
    • Create strategies for sales campaigns within Salesforce, and effectively communicate strategies for implementation.
    • Analyse campaign performance and clearly articulate insight for how to improve engagement.
    • Maintain daily/weekly/monthly/quarterly reports and dashboards that measure productivity and support the day-to day needs of the commercial team
    • Manage Salesforce and Pardot process, workflow rules, and business logic to ensure maximum productivity and efficiency
    • Regularly perform data hygiene of leads, accounts, opportunities, and custom objects
    • Champion CRM within the business, proactively communicating with stakeholders and providing insight to help campaign planning
    • Ensure all work undertaken is complaint with GDPR, Data Protection etc.

    Requirements

    • Degree in Marketing or related field
    • 2+ years working experience using Salesforce and Pardot campaign creation, workflow and execution
    • Management of databases and/or large amounts of complex data
    • Experience working with stakeholders to deliver projects.
    • Best practice industry knowledge within and outside of Salesforce and Pardot, including system updates and upgrades
    • Experience in developing and implementing MQL and SQL nurture campaigns
    • Experience in implementing digital campaigns that engage, inform and motivate
    • Experience in using ad platforms to drive new user acquisition, including PPC, Facebook, LinkedIn, Google Ads, Google Display preferable
    • Knowledge of website analytic tools preferable
